Mayo - A saga of service in medical care

"The best interest of the patient is the only interest to be considered"
- William J. mayo, M.D.
We spent our Christmas vacation this time with my sister-in-law and family living in Rochester, Minnesota. This amazing city is known for two things, one is Mayo Clinic and the other is IBM. As everyone knew, IBM is one of the techie giants in today's innovative world, so nothing more to say about this monster. What impressed me most was the Mayo!!! the service they are doing to the humanity is noteworthy. Especially when I came to know about the mission with which they started the Mayo Clinic and the way they transformed it to today's one of the best non-profit group in the world is an inspiring story. We visited all the different buildings of the Mayo complex in Rochester downtown. Every building and every corridor has got a story to tell. There are so many generous souls who donated their properties and estates to Mayo for the development of medical research. Kudos to all those souls who joined hands in making this great medical group, which is known to be one of the best. No patient will ever get that sick feeling when they are inside Mayo, its just because the Mayo cares for them and comforts them.
No wonder everyone of us today are able to combat any disease or any illness without any fear. As a token of respect I dedicate this small appreciation to all those great doctors who dedicated their lives in this noble profession and kudos to Mayo for their amazing service to humanity.
