Sudha Murthy!!!!!

I happened to see a speech by Sudha Murthy in YouTube two ago. This was a lecture given by her in University Of California at Berkley.Mrs.Sudha Murthy is the wife of Mr.Narayana Murthy, one of the founders and chair person of Infosys Technologies Ltd.I read couple of articles about her and heard a lot when I was in Infosys, but never got a chance to listen to her. Thanks to Orkut and Vaishali who shared this video. It was so thought provoking that I was not able to resist to pour out my feelings...and ofcourse wherelse I can express them in a better way other than my blog. Here you go...
The speech was about Sudha Murhthy's Philathrophy work and her lessons from life. The situations and the scenarios that made her to take up this noble mission of philanthropy were no different from the ones we everyone of us face around us, but what made her unique was, the way she interpreted them, the way she empathized those suffering souls, that sense of responsibility she felt towards her motherland. Many of us do charity work in many ways through some donations to some NGO etc. But how many of us bother to check back whether our funds are going to the right hands or not? Its not only just that philanthropic thought that matters but that sense of responsibility is also very important. She herself pointed out many cases where people took advantage of her noble work. But she never stopped her mission, every such incident taught her a lesson and made her work even more successful. She told that the learning process is still going on even to this very day.............and ofcourse why not life itself is like that.Kudos!!!! to her attitude and the work Infosys foundation is doing.Mrs. Murthy's life is a saga of service and sacrifice. She is the very embodiment of humility and modesty, and the support she got from Mr.Murthy and Infosys is tremendous. May this helping hand reach out many more needy souls and make our Inida a developed nation in every sense. After listening to her talks, I feel like becoming an Infoscion one more time..........

Sarada garu,

Nice post. She is indeed a wonderful person. Coming to getting inspired by her, if you think about it, I am sure most of us listen to such speeches or read articles or books about such people who have such a great sense of responsibility towards Bharath - but unfortunately, the so called 'inspiration' stays with us for only a while and we get back to our mundane existence.

I think the need of the hour is more than "getting inspired" for a few days - the inspiration has to have a substantial impact on our thinking and make us realize that the onus is on us youth to work for the development of India - as it is, India is facing challenges on every front (social life, security, environmental challenges etc) - and with the callous attitude of today's youth towards their motherland, the situation gets even more challenging.

- just another incoherent rambling!!
