Attitude - It changes everything

Somehow today I encountered this word "Attitude" couple of times. May be a coincidence or I badly needed some topic for my blog. Today we had a department meeting with our group director in the morning. As usual these high level meetings have more hype than real content and quality, so my eyes started scanning that big conference room which has got some interesting posters. One of them caught my attention very much, its about.....I think anyone reading this can easily guess what that word might be? Yes, ofcourse "Attitude". The wordings on that poster were "Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?" hmm...my gray matter started to react for these words. To add to this,I saw an article in rediff saying "Attitude can pay you big bucks". What a coincidence? I was not able to resist anymore seeing all this. Why not put my two cents also? Here you go..
"Attitude", it has a simple meaning i.e. state of mind, just feeling good about oneself and others. It looks so simple. Isn't it? I dont know why we tend to make things complicate and then try to understand them. Few months ago on my first day in this company, I asked one of my collegues about the work culture here. He told that this is a good place to work particulary people working here dont have "A" factor. I was so much surprised by that answer. why are we having problems with this attitude? Attitude is nothing but the way you think, the way you perceive things, so basically the problem is lying with us only. It has nothing to do with others. My dad always says, "If the mind is good everything will be good". Many times we are into these attitude problems during meetings or any discussions with friends or collegues. If you have a clear mind and know what you are doing is right, then you don't face any kind of attitude problems. If people don't agree with your thoughts and ideas, there is nothing to name it as attitude problem. Everyone one has got their own ideas and way of doing things which is unique to them. We need to respect those thoughts with all grace and dignity. We are no one to contradict their thoughts and feelings. I don't know why, sometimes we fail to realise this small thing and tend to react in a different way. "You are what you think", no one else other than you can make you or your thoughts inferior. There is no point in showing these inferiority or superiority complexes here. It's just that one factor called "patience" which we need to retain to shape ourselves and our attitude. Someone has rightly told,

...dedicated to the soul who completes me

"If i ever had to invent something,
that something would be you..
If i have ever searched for something,
that something has been you..
If ever my life has had a sense,
that sense is you..
This world is too much big for me if u'r not there,
I need your eyes to gaze at it,
I need your hands to touch it,
I need your love to live it,
I need you to live . . ."

Falling short of words to express my happiness today as
this is the most memorable day in my life, the day I was
tied with a sweet and lovely bond with my gundu 1yr
before. Since then every single day has been so wonderful
in its own way. Felt like GOD has gift wrapped the entire
happiness, love and affection and presented to me in the
form of him. His very presence will bring a special
fragrance which makes every moment spent with him even more
memorable. He filled my entire world with so much of happiness
that I can't ask for anything more.

Happy Anniversary my dear "GUNDUS".

A Refreshing thought...

Today I went to one of my colleague's cube to resolve some project related issues. There was one hanging in his cube which caught my eyes. After reading those lines, a kind of new energy flowed through my veins. It was truly a refreshing one.

"GOD give me the serenity,
To accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time."

A Rosy Day

A rose is a rose is a rose........people say these flowers convey so many things without speaking anything. We went to a "Rose Show" this weekend. After seeing the amazing sight of different colors of roses, an unheard sound of music, a peaceful and soothing one began to play in my mind. Can't express in words about that wonderful feeling. We people became so busy with the day to day activities and mundane jobs that we tend to forget about these small happy things which GOD has gifted us. Thinking about all this reminded me the lines of William Henry Davies. How true!!!

What is life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

A perfect definition...

No rose,
No diamond ring,
But if this is not love,
What is love?
With enthusiasm, Love your life!
Love the people around you!

...Sweet memories

What on earth can be more delicious than this amazing fruit? This is best part of summer which I used to love in India. The thought of this itself brings so many wonderful memories of my childhood. Every meal of us used to end with curd rice and mango pieces. Me and my brother used to quarrel for the big pieces and my mom used to cut another mango to stop our mahabahrat yudh for mangoes. This fruit makes the meal so complete and heartful. No single day used to go off without eating mangoes during the summer which is a ripe season for mangoes in India. When I saw the magoes here, all those memories came falshing through my mind...one of my friends wrote in her blog saying "If only memories could be bottled like perfumes and I could remove the stopper to smell them whenever I want to.." I wish I could...

How fair are we in this game of life?

“Life is a game, play it”, someone has rightly told. But its not just playing that is important but how fair are we in that game? Winning is something that every one of us wants to cherish but doing our best is the ultimate, no matter whether we win it or lose it. The ultimate thing that I am talking about is how true we are to our conscious.

Recently I made a trip to India for my brother's marriage. That thought of going to India brings so much of happiness, a feeling that we are going to go to our own place, the place where I was born, brought up, studied, learned every aspect of life, a place which taught me to be humble, a place which taught me my culture, traditions and everything whatever I am right now. When all these thoughts were flowing through my mind my happiness knew no bounds on the day of our travel. The tiredness of 20hrs of journey was gone after seeing those beautiful smiles of our parents who were anxiously waiting since 3 months for this day. I can't express in words about their happiness after seeing us. Right from the day we were born and till this very day they never failed to think about our happiness in every single way sacrificing many things which they well deserved just to give us a wonderful life. My dad used to say "That umbilical cord bond is a miracle which GOD has given to every human being". How true…!!! Then a thought provoking thought aroused in my mind. It sounded like someone patted me and asked me this question? Don't you think that you are behaving selfishly staying far away from them, leaving your own country and people? How fair it is to make them wait for years and years at this age to just see you for one or two weeks? After seeing so many anxious parents waiting for their loved ones, this thought grew even stronger. There were some parents who are in wheel chairs but still bearing all that pain just for you. May be that pain is nothing compared to the happiness they want to give us. Even at this stage of life they are ready to take all the pains to make us happy. Tears rolled in my eyes after seeing all this. Those were not the tears of happiness, nope not at all. Those tears are for the pain and the suffering they are undergoing at this age. It is always they who took all the pains, that day when we were just 1 or 2 months old they happily smiled when we were kicking them with our hand and legs and even this day they are smiling when we are kicking them in their hearts and playing with their feelings. The difference being, that day they smiled thinking about our innocence and this day they are smiling might be thinking about our ignorance towards life. That passion to win and conquer this world (may be for status, money etc.) doesn’t matter whether someone else is getting hurt is making us deaf, dumb and don’t know what to call this deadly disease. Those happy days of family get-togethers, mom’s wonderful dishes, playing games with cousins, teasing aunts with their typical gossips, those coffee sips in the mornings reading the day’s news paper, evening movie shows with friends…this is going to be a never ending list, don’t know why are we trying to redefine life where as life’s real meaning lies in these small happy moments which we spend with our loved ones. This is not just my thought but many of us might be going through the same situation. Why are we trying to wear a mask of happiness seeing this success which in true sense is not. I tried to console myself with a good answer but not able to. May be we are trying to keep our loved ones more happy with all the worldly comforts, may be we are trying to relieve them from the burdens they carried till now. Or sometimes we fall short of words to answer…..may be this question is one among them.
"It doesn't matter how fast you move ahead in life, But what matters is the road on which yoy move ahead. On the road of life be true to others. More importantly be true to yourself."
