Back to blogging!!

I think I took enough break from this part of my life. It was a forceful break because of my hectic project release which went till october end and to a small extent due to my laziness to think of few thoughtful words for my blog ;-) whatever may be the reason, I am gald that I realised what I was missing all these days pretty quickly though!! Here are few updates from my side.My MIL (mother-in-law) came here in October 1st week, me and my dear hubby are having awesome time with her delicious dishes, chakkar pongal, murukulu, avial, mysorepak, bobbatlu (poli) etc. just to name a few. Now a days for each and every food item I prepare, as a matter of fact regarding anything I keep asking her opinion about it. Its such a nice feeling to have elders at home to guide you whenever you need anything.Another update is I am planning to buy a Violin soon as my Violin classes are going pretty good and I think its high time to stop my renting and have a Violin of my own (to torture my best half for life with my Violin concerts ;-))The best part is my MIL supports me a lot by singing the musical notes whenever I do my violin pratcie . Infact she herself is a very good singer and learned music.Along with blogging I made a promise to myself that I will renew my book reading habit. With this laptop era now, I am hardly reading any good book other than TIME magazine or Reader's Digest which I fortunately subscribed at home and for everything else I prefer holding my laptop and browsing and eating up my whole time instead of doing anything productive. So, I strongly made up my mind and went to library last week and got Hitchiker's Guide to Galaxy, heard a lot about this book so thought of giving it a read.

Our Epics!!!

A couple of days back when me and my friends were browsing through the net for some information on the Yaksha prasnas, I came through this interesting pic. hmmm...let me give some basic details of what these Yaksha Prasnans are infact?? These were the questions posed to Yudhistir i.e. the eldest brother of Pandavas by Yaksha(an incarnation of Lord Yama). Now coming back to the picture, this caught my attention very much, It looks pretty interesting!! Isn't it? Everyone of us (hopefully) will be able to make it out what this picture is about. Yep!!This picture is speaking about our epic Mahabharata. We were able to reveal every part, the picture was trying to convey.Somehow I feel that our generation is lucky enough to learn and know about our great epics Ramayan, Mahabharat, Bhagavatam etc.may be through our parents or grand parents or elders or Ramanand sagar's serials. They taught us about our culture, traditions, ethics and values of human life. I treasure all those memories of my childhood days where we all children in our compound used to gather in one place during night times and exchange those mythological stories and the best part was we have our parents and grand parents to clarify our questions and doubts who have read those epics and understood their essence. Now with this busy, monotonous and hectic life schedule I don't know how much of this knowledge can we transfer to our progeny. Whatever knowledge we have on these epics might be just 1% i.e from the stories heard from our parents or elders or through some story books. But atleast let us try to impart that 1% to them and kindle interest in them to learn about our Indianised definition of human life. A small story on Lord Rama or Lord Krishna may teach them umpteen number of things which we might not teach through kind words.

Sudha Murthy!!!!!

I happened to see a speech by Sudha Murthy in YouTube two ago. This was a lecture given by her in University Of California at Berkley.Mrs.Sudha Murthy is the wife of Mr.Narayana Murthy, one of the founders and chair person of Infosys Technologies Ltd.I read couple of articles about her and heard a lot when I was in Infosys, but never got a chance to listen to her. Thanks to Orkut and Vaishali who shared this video. It was so thought provoking that I was not able to resist to pour out my feelings...and ofcourse wherelse I can express them in a better way other than my blog. Here you go...
The speech was about Sudha Murhthy's Philathrophy work and her lessons from life. The situations and the scenarios that made her to take up this noble mission of philanthropy were no different from the ones we everyone of us face around us, but what made her unique was, the way she interpreted them, the way she empathized those suffering souls, that sense of responsibility she felt towards her motherland. Many of us do charity work in many ways through some donations to some NGO etc. But how many of us bother to check back whether our funds are going to the right hands or not? Its not only just that philanthropic thought that matters but that sense of responsibility is also very important. She herself pointed out many cases where people took advantage of her noble work. But she never stopped her mission, every such incident taught her a lesson and made her work even more successful. She told that the learning process is still going on even to this very day.............and ofcourse why not life itself is like that.Kudos!!!! to her attitude and the work Infosys foundation is doing.Mrs. Murthy's life is a saga of service and sacrifice. She is the very embodiment of humility and modesty, and the support she got from Mr.Murthy and Infosys is tremendous. May this helping hand reach out many more needy souls and make our Inida a developed nation in every sense. After listening to her talks, I feel like becoming an Infoscion one more time..........

ఉగాది శుభాకాంక్షలు

Happy Ugadi to one and all. Atlast I was successful in updating my blog today with the Ugadi wishes. Now a days I am hardly finding time to cherish any of my hobbies. May be a little bit of work pressure but don't want to give any such excuses which are inevitable. So I strongly made up my mind today and posted this one. My parents used to say that if we start any good thing on Ugadi day we will continue to do that throughout the year. Don't know how successful I will be in updating my blog from now onwards, but atleast that thought makes me happy. Once again a Happy Ugadi and a wonderful year ahead.

Sher aur Shayari!!!!

Couple of days back, me and my brother were exchanging some mails regarding Google holiday logos. Interestingly we started conversing in hindi shers or shayaris, whatever they are called. Just thought of posting it in my blog to appreciate the poet in me. Sounds funny though.........I never gave any try in hindi shayari's before..but to my surprise I came up with some meaningful lines.... ;-)

Bro:
Deewaane hum ,
kushi ho ya gam,
bolthe hi jyada sunthe hai kuch kam,
par "google" jaisi cheej tho dekh the hi har dammmm!!

Me:
Har ek ka sahara hai hum,
jaise gehare ghav ka maram,
pata nahi is deewangi ka asli naam,
par "google" jaisi cheej ko dekh the hi har dammmm!!

Bro:
are vah , akkaya kavitha likhne lagi, aur aye kaam ke hai hummm!!!

Me:
arey bhayya aapke samne kuch bhi nahi hai hum,
magar koshish karte rehte hai har kadam,
haar ki kabi nahi hai gum,
kyun ki....................
"Google" jaisi cheej ko dekh the hi har dammmm!!

Bro:
nikal gaye humare akhiri damm.....

Change is essential!!!

Today a strange incident happened to me, nothing phenomenal as such, its just that I didn't get a parking space in my usual parking lot. This is the first time I ever faced this situation from the time I joined this new company, I think almost an yr. In the evening after coming out of the building, I went to my regular parking lot....but soon realized that I didn't park it there. From that other parking lot I had to take a different route to come back home. There is nothing strange about this entire incident, it happens with everyone.....but what surprised me the most was..........somehow my inner space was not convenient with this small change today.....its just a matter of one day. Tomorrow I am going to park my car in my regular place and everything will come to normal............I know this but still....why are we sometimes so reluctant to accept such a trivial change also? Chutki has rightly quoted in DDLJ "Aaadatein jab waqt par nahi badale tho jarooratein ban jati hai ;-)" Why can't we digest if things go out of place even for a moment?hmmm.....I know that change is not merely essential to life but there is no fun when everything goes smoothly also right ;-)

Coffee Day!!!

Happened to read about the following few words about coffee. Felt so glad!! atleast there is someone who says coffee is good for health ;-) I am not a coffee addict as such, but I need to start my day with a nice cup of coffee. Those few sips in the morning make my entire day. "A cup of coffee won't do you any harm. And no, it won't cause heart disease and high blood pressure -if you don't OD on it that is. On the contrary, according to a study by the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program, California, drinking coffee limits the risk of liver cancer, diabetes and Parkinson's. And when it comes to burning the midnight oil, it sure works like a charm."

A Day to Forget

I hapened to read about Valentine's Day article in TIME magazine today. Here are some few words which really substantiated my previous post. The words go like this:
For those who feel well loved, everyday, of course is Valentine's. For the rest, no card can console. The minute if one feels like giving something is a duty, it has lost its purpose. Love sought is good, as Shakespeare observed, but given unsought is better
They have concluded that the best gift for the Valentine's Day is to ignore it altogether.Wonderful isn't it? ;-)

Googling Valentine's Day

Today I had a fun time at office with Google. As such not only today but every day Google is a fun, infact came to such a stage that can't imagine life without Google. These words have that magic spell from which no one can escape. The Valentine's Day logo of Google today was so sweet and I just loved it. Its a simple drawing of an older couple (he has a cane and she has white hair) holding hands and walking together. But this simple drawing conveyed the ultimate truth of life. Love is about knowing each other, understanding each other, respecting each other's feelings irrespective of any factor (age, time, place, situation). Its a divine blessing that no matter what, you will have him/her to hold your hand and come along with you......as the best is yet to come for which we are made.

Moments of happiness

Everyday after getting up from the bed I will cheer up myself saying that today is gonna be the most wonderful day in my life. For me even a small thing that brings a smile on my face is enough to make my day. Crazy girl ;-) but these crazy moments are the ones that make up one's life. Anyways coming to the today's wonderful moments......I got a THANK YOU mail from my Boeing PM today morning. The mail went like this:
Just a quick note to let you know that you brighten my day, every day.The "Happy New Year - 2008" email that you sent me is in a hard plasticholder, on top of the one that you sent to me in 2007...on my desk at work.

I read it, see it....it helps me to keep things in perspective and it reminds me of our friendship. You have a beautiful soul, thank you for sharing yourself with me.

Have a wonderful day!
Your Friend,
Kendra

I was so happy seeing her note. Its that innate feeling that there is someone who cares for my words is what brightened my day. Thanks for all those kind words Kendra. To add to this happiness, my potti brother has dedicated a small Kavitha for us (Visharada). This one made my moments of happiness even more memorable. Thanks a ton for everything bro :)
