A tribute to a great mind - Dr.A.P.J. Kalam

"I am in debt to my father for living,
but to my teacher for living well"

In this journey of life we come across different kinds of people who might have influenced our lives in many aspects. On one side we have parents(and family) and teachers who shaped our destiny with the gift of education and good character. On the other side we have friends who filled our lives with happiness and fun. In my view there is one more side to everyone of us which gets inspired by some unique things and unique people. You need not be with them to experience that uniqueness just the sight of them itself will shape our attitude and mould us as good human beings. Dr.A.P.J Kalam, is such an unique name, just hearing the name itself brings so much of respect, a proud feeling that we are also born in the same land as this great man. A man with principles, a man with simplicity, a man with utmost humility, a man with tons of knowledge.......falling short of words to describe this great person!! His life is a fitting example to everyone of us in every way. I owe all this to my dad who taught me about this great scientist and a wonderful human being when I was in my 8th standard. An article came in Hindu about him and his success stories in ISRO. I used to wonder how can a person be so intelligent and so simple at the same time. From that day till this very day nothing has changed about him, his love for children, his passion for teaching, his principles and attitude towards life remained the same. It's an honour to every Indian for having such a wonderful human being as the first citizen of India for 5yrs. "All good things should come to an end..." don't feel like saying these words, heart became so heavy when I came to know that his presidential term has ended. But later on laughed at my ignorance, people like him are torch bearers, their presence will be felt and ignite the minds of people wherever they go. Hope the footprints of ethics and principles left by him as president may guide our nation and people in the right path and as a teacher I am sure he will continue the legacy of moulding great minds with his jewels of wisdom.
